In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, MVA’s allied parties—Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Shiv Sena (UBT)—will contest 85 seats each. He added that out of the 288 Assembly seats in Maharashtra, agreement has been reached on 270 seats.
Raut confirmed that a few seats will also be allotted to the SP, led by Akhilesh Yadav. During a press conference, Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole said that Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Shiv Sena (UBT) will each contest 85 seats.
The remaining 18 seats will be discussed with SP and other smaller alliance partners. Patole said, “We are contesting the election as Maha Vikas Aghadi, and we will form the government.”
Regarding the remaining 33 seats, Shiv Sena leader Anil Desai explained that “an agreement has been reached for 85-85-85 seats, and the remaining seats will be given to smaller allied parties.”
Sanjay Raut further added, “We will include the Samajwadi Party, PWP, CPI(M), CPI, and ‘AAP.’ Discussions on the remaining seats are ongoing, but we have reached a consensus on 270 seats. The MVA is united and ready to defeat the Mahayuti government.”
Akhilesh Yadav had earlier mentioned that SP has demanded 12 seats, and they have shared details of the constituencies where they believe their position is strong. He also announced that SP has already declared its candidates for five seats.
