US Presidential Election 2024: Donald Trump Takes Narrow Lead Over Kamala Harris

In the upcoming 2024 US presidential election, Republican candidate Donald Trump has gained a slight lead over his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris, according to a new poll.

Trump Leads Harris by 2 Points

A survey conducted by The Wall Street Journal revealed that Trump is leading with 47% of the vote, compared to Harris’s 45%. The poll, conducted from October 19-22, surveyed 1,500 registered voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.

Rising Support Among Young Black and Latino Men

Additionally, a separate poll, reported by Politico, found that Trump’s support among young Black and Latino men has reached record levels. This presents a significant challenge for Kamala Harris. The GenForward Survey, conducted by the University of Chicago, focused on voters aged 18 to 40 years old.

Pollster Nate Silver’s “Gut Feeling”

Veteran pollster Nate Silver, writing in The New York Times, shared that his “gut feeling” suggests the Republican candidate could win the 2024 election, which is now less than two weeks away. However, Silver also cautioned against relying too much on anyone’s “gut feeling” as a predictor of the election’s outcome.

Harris’s Strong Criticism of Trump

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has fiercely criticized Trump, calling him a “fascist” and warning that her rival is becoming “increasingly unstable.” This comment followed reports that Trump praised Adolf Hitler during a recent town hall event.

Harris’s sharp critique came during a CNN-hosted event in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state. As she addressed voters’ concerns about Trump’s fitness for office, she stated, “They care about our democracy and not having a President of the United States who admires dictators and is a fascist.”
