Bihar AQI Update: The air quality in Bihar is deteriorating, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) exceeding 250 in cities like Patna, Gaya, and Muzaffarpur, placing them in the “poor” category. Early morning fog across Bihar is contributing to rising pollution levels, particularly impacting air quality in the capital, Patna, and other nearby cities.
On the final day of the Chhath Puja festival, the Samapura area of Patna recorded the highest AQI at 268. Both Gaya and Muzaffarpur also reported AQI levels above 200, indicating poor air quality. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board, Gaya registered an AQI of 250 and Muzaffarpur 255 as of 9 a.m. on Friday.
Other cities like Araria, Aurangabad, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Hajipur, Katihar, Kishanganj, Motihari, Purnia, Rajgir, Saharsa, Sasaram, and Siwan also showed compromised air quality, with AQI readings between 101 and 200.
