Mahakumbh Mela District: UP Now Has 76 Districts, Mahakumbh Mela Declared a New District; Notification Issued

Mahakumbh Mela District: Uttar Pradesh now has 76 districts, Mahakumbh Mela declared a new district. Regarding this notification issued.

Uttar Pradesh now has a total of 76 districts. As per the directives of the Yogi government, the Sangam area and its surroundings in Prayagraj have been declared a new district named Mahakumbh Mela District in preparation for the Mahakumbh 2025. District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar issued the notification on Sunday.

The state government issued orders for creating the new district on November 25. This district includes 67 revenue villages from four tehsils of Prayagraj and the entire Parade Ground area. With the addition of this district, the Prayagraj division now consists of five districts: Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, and Mahakumbh Mela District.

Key Points of the Notification

The District Magistrate exercised the powers granted under Section 2(da) of the Prayagraj Mela Authority Act, 2017, to establish the new district for the Mahakumbh 2025. Key details include:

  • The Mela Officer will have the authority of an Executive Magistrate, District Magistrate, and Additional District Magistrate under Section 14(1) and other relevant sections of the Indian Civil Defence Code, 2023.
  • An Additional Collector will be appointed with full collectorate powers under the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code, 2006, in the new district.

Areas Included in the New District

Tehsil Sadar:

  • Villages such as Kureshipur, Kidganj, Barahi Patti, Sadiyabad, Chandpur Salori, Govindpur, Patti Chilla, and Arazi Baroodkhana, among others.

Tehsil Soraon:

  • Villages like Bela Kachar Baroodkhana, Padila, and Mansaitha.

Tehsil Phulpur:

  • Bela Sailabi Kachar, Aurha Uparhar, Sihori, Ibrahimpur, Rasoolpur, Sonauti, Jhunsi Kohna, Haveliya, and several others.

Tehsil Karchhana:

  • Villages including Madanuwa, Mawaiya, Devrakh, Arail, Jahangirabad, Mahewa Patti, Mirakhpur, and more.

This new district has been established to streamline administrative operations for the grand Mahakumbh event, ensuring better management and coordination.
